On May 22, 2009, Grapevine Center hosted “That Guy With the Birds” John Lege. John has done numerous presentations for many non-profit agencies and schools. John brought at least 15 various types of birds with him. The show was both educational and entertaining in nature. After the one hour show individuals were able to hold many of the individual birds that were brought to the Center. The show was so well received we are hoping to be able to invite “That Guy With the Birds” back again.

Grapevine Center in collaboration with Suit Yourself, a local program that provides clothing free of charge for individuals who need clothing to seek or maintain employment or volunteer work, co-hosted a Fashion show on May 16, 2009 at the Grapevine Center. Each person in the show first modeled a casual outfit and then something for work. The individuals were able to keep the outfits they modeled.

The Grapevine Center won the award for “Best Overall Float” in the Annual Christmas parade on Friday November 28th. Barb Cress our Activity Director and her daughter made all of the heads from paper mache. Watch the slide show below for highlights.
