We recently had a very successful foray into the woods to minister to the homeless folks camped out there, in the freezing cold. This time, we teamed up with the Youngstown Blue Coats. (See Grapevine Center’s Al Lane in the back row, 2nd from the right). They brought a bus and we handed out coats to the homeless folks there.
A really nifty invention we were able to hand out, was a jacket that converted to a sleeping bag. The lady on the front right of the picture is holding one.
Generally, Al and an inter-organizational team go out into the woods and other places where homeless people camp, two or three times a week, We take out food and try to bring the folks in and hook them up with housing and supports.
Great outreach and we thank the Youngstown Blue Coats for their generosity.
