Thank God for Dr Davies research into the shocking lack of scientific underpinning of the DSM! This was an audacious power grab by a small cabal under a Dr. Spitzer, to push through an agenda in a breathtaking abuse of power. Dr. Andrew Feldmar has aptly compared the DSM to the book the Inquisition used, Malleus Maleficarum, during the middle ages to decide who was a witch. History keeps showing us that we should never accept what the authorities say without first checking out that it is true, or based on solid fact. Since the creation of the DSM, mental illness has risen exponentially. Instead of mental illness being cured or substantially diminished, today, one fifth of the American population is diagnosed with some mental illness and put on medication for life. Even then, most are not restored to useful and productive lives.
